Overview

CompleteEvent includes a post-event survey tool that sends attendees a feedback form after your event. You can use the built-in overall rating and comment fields, or build a fully custom survey with up to six question types.

Survey results are available in Reports → Survey in your event dashboard.

If you also use Live Session Feedback, sessions that an attendee already rated during the event are automatically removed from their post-event survey — so they won't be asked to rate the same session twice. See Live Session Feedback for details.

Built-in Survey vs. Custom Questions

Every event automatically includes a basic survey with an overall 1–5 star rating and an open-ended comment field. If you want more specific feedback, add custom questions using the survey builder.

When custom questions are present, the survey page shows your custom questions instead of (or in addition to) the built-in fields.

Question Types

  • Short text — a single-line input, good for short answers like names or locations.
  • Paragraph — a multi-line textarea for longer responses.
  • Rating (1–5 stars) — a star selector for numerical satisfaction scores.
  • NPS (0–10) — a standard Net Promoter Score question. CompleteEvent automatically calculates your NPS score from responses.
  • Multiple choice — radio buttons with options you define. Attendees pick one answer.
  • Checkboxes — like multiple choice, but attendees can select more than one option.

Building Your Survey

  1. Go to Reports → Survey in your event dashboard.
  2. Click Add question. Choose your question type, write the question text, and mark it required or optional.
  3. For multiple choice and checkbox questions, enter the answer options separated by commas.
  4. Repeat for all your questions. Questions appear in the order they were added.

Sharing the Survey

The survey lives at /{orgSlug}/{eventSlug}/survey?confirmation=CODE. You can include the link in your post-event broadcast email. If you add ?confirmation={confirmationCode}, the survey pre-identifies the attendee and prevents duplicate submissions.

Attendees who have already submitted a survey see a “Survey complete” message if they visit the link again.

Viewing Results

Go to Reports → Survey → Results to see a breakdown of every question: text responses listed in full, rating averages displayed as progress bars, and NPS score calculated automatically from 0–10 responses.
