Terms of Service

Last updated: July 17, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CompleteEvent ("the Service"), operated by CompleteEvent ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CompleteEvent is an event management platform that allows organizations to create events, manage registrations, sell tickets and process payments, schedule sessions, collect abstract submissions, communicate with attendees by email, SMS, and push notification, and run fundraising activities such as donations, sponsorships, silent auctions, and raffles. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with free and paid tiers.

Any hands-on services we provide separately (such as event build-outs, platform configuration, coaching, or managed-event support) are governed by a separate statement of work or order form and are not included in your subscription.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload or transmit malicious code or content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
  • Collect personal data of other users without their consent

5. Subscription Plans and Billing

The Service offers Free, Starter, Pro, and Enterprise subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout and include a 14-day free trial. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

We may change our published prices with 30 days' notice. If you are an active paying subscriber, you keep your current plan name, price, and feature access for as long as your subscription remains continuously active — price changes apply to new subscriptions only, unless you choose to change plans.

Nonprofit and educational discounts are available on self-certification of eligibility at checkout. We may verify eligibility after the fact; if an account does not qualify, we may remove the discount and reprice the subscription to standard rates on the next billing cycle.

6. Platform Fees

Free plans include a 3% platform fee on paid ticket transactions. Starter plans include a 1% platform fee. Pro and Enterprise plans include a 0.5% platform fee. The platform fee applies to all Stripe charges processed through the Service, including ticket sales, donations, raffle and event shop purchases, and sponsorship payments. Payment processing fees charged by Stripe are separate and apply to all paid transactions regardless of plan.

7. Content and Data

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your event data, attendee information, or uploaded materials.

8. Data Protection

As an event organizer, you are responsible for complying with applicable data protection laws regarding the personal data of your attendees. You must have a lawful basis for collecting and processing attendee data through the Service. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data.

9. Fundraising, Raffles, and Prize Draws

CompleteEvent provides tools that allow organizers to run raffles, lotteries, and prize draws as part of their events ("Raffle Features"). Raffles and prize draws are subject to varying laws across jurisdictions, including but not limited to requirements for permits, licensing, charitable status, age restrictions, and prize disclosure.

By enabling Raffle Features, you represent and warrant that:

  • You have verified that operating a raffle or prize draw is lawful in your jurisdiction and the jurisdiction(s) of your participants;
  • You hold all required permits, licenses, or registrations;
  • Your raffle or prize draw complies with all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws, including any charitable gaming regulations;
  • You will clearly disclose all material terms to participants, including odds, prize descriptions, and any eligibility restrictions.

CompleteEvent does not verify compliance with raffle or gaming laws and accepts no liability for your use of Raffle Features. You agree to indemnify and hold CompleteEvent harmless from any claims, fines, penalties, or damages arising from your operation of a raffle or prize draw.

The same responsibilities apply to the other fundraising features we provide, including donation collection, silent auctions, and sponsorship payments. You are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable charitable solicitation, fundraising registration, tax, consumer-protection, and gaming laws in your jurisdiction and the jurisdiction(s) of your participants. CompleteEvent does not verify such compliance, and you agree to indemnify and hold CompleteEvent harmless from any claims, fines, penalties, or damages arising from your use of these fundraising features.

10. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with reasonable advance notice. We are not liable for temporary unavailability due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CompleteEvent shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days to allow export, after which it will be permanently deleted.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer located in the European Union or United Kingdom, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence also apply, and nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under those laws.
