CE/CME Credits and Certificates
Award continuing-education credit from real attendance and evaluations. Set your accreditation profile, assign credit to sessions, let attendees claim credit, and issue certificates and lifetime transcripts.
Overview
CompleteEvent turns attendance into continuing-education credit without a side spreadsheet. You declare the credit types your organization is accredited to issue, assign credit to sessions, and collect the evaluations most accreditors require. Attendees who complete an evaluation claim the credit they earned and download a certificate of attendance — and every claimed credit is added to a lifetime learner transcript. Certificates and the credit engine are available on all paid plans.
Step 1 — Set your organization's accreditation profile
Credit starts at the organization level so you never award credit you are not approved for.
- Go to Organization Settings → Accreditation.
- Add each credit type your organization is accredited to issue — for example a general CE credit or AMA PRA Category 1 Credit — along with any accreditation details the type requires.
- Save. These credit types are now the only ones you can assign to events and sessions.
Step 2 — Assign credit to an event and its sessions
- Open your event and go to Settings. Under the credit section, set the maximum credit the event can award for each credit type (the credit cap).
- Open each session that carries credit and set the credit type and amount it offers. The engine adds up per-session credit against the event cap as attendees claim it.
- If your accreditation requires disclosures, turn them on for the event — see Speaker & Planner Disclosures.
Step 3 — Session evaluations are the gate to credit
Most accreditors require confirmation of participation before credit is awarded. In CompleteEvent, completing a session's evaluation is that confirmation. Evaluations use the same tools as your post-event surveys and live session feedback, so the responses also flow into your analytics and speaker feedback. An attendee cannot claim a session's credit until its evaluation is complete.
Step 4 — How attendees claim credit and get a certificate
- After attending and completing the required evaluation, the attendee opens the event's certificate page from their registration.
- They claim the credit they earned. The certificate of attendance reflects the claimed credit and is available to download as a PDF.
- Claimed credit is added to their lifetime transcript automatically.
You control the certificate template per event: the title, an introductory line, the credit statement, body text, and a signatory name and signature image. Set these under Wrap Up → Certificates.
The learner transcript
Every credit an attendee claims across every event they attend on CompleteEvent is collected in one lifetime transcript. Attendees view it under My Events → Transcript — there is no per-event PDF to keep track of, and returning attendees build a single running record with your organization.
Credit roster and CPE export
As the organizer, open Wrap Up → Credit Roster to see who has claimed what credit for the event. On Pro plans you can export the credit data (CPE export) for your own records or to hand to a credentialing body. If your event issues credit that reports to an accreditor, see Accreditor Reporting (PARS).
Plan availability
- Certificates and the credit engine — all paid plans (Starter and up).
- CPE / credit export — Pro and Enterprise.
- Disclosures and accreditor reporting — opt-in per event; turn on when your event issues credit that requires them.
