Accreditor Reporting (PARS)
Report earned physician credit to the AMA. Set your accreditation profile, capture NPI and consent, validate identifiers, clear the repair queue, and export the PARS learner-credit file. AMA-only today.
Overview
When your event awards physician credit, you must report each learner's earned credit to the accreditor. CompleteEvent produces the AMA PARS learner-credit file from the credit your attendees actually claimed, validates the identifiers the report requires, and holds anything that needs correcting in a repair queue before you export. Accreditor reporting is AMA-only today (AMA PRA Category 1 Credit); other accreditor integrations are on the roadmap.
Step 1 — Set up your accreditation profile
- Go to Organization Settings → Accreditation and add AMA PRA Category 1 Credit, with your accreditation details.
- This makes the credit type available to assign to events and sessions. See CE/CME Credits and Certificates for assigning credit.
Step 2 — Capture learner PII and consent
PARS reporting needs learner details you do not collect for an ordinary registration — such as the learner's NPI number — plus the learner's consent to report their credit. CompleteEvent captures this at registration and again after registration for anyone who did not provide it, so the record is complete by the time you report.
Step 3 — Choose PARS granularity per event
Each event has a PARS activity granularity setting that controls how the activity is represented in the report. Set it on the event to match how the activity is registered with the AMA before you export.
Step 4 — Work the reporting page
When an event issues physician credit, an Accreditor Reporting item appears under Wrap Up. It shows every learner with claimed credit and the state of their record.
- NPI validation — each NPI is checked (including its checksum) before it is allowed into the report, so invalid numbers are caught up front rather than rejected by the AMA.
- Repair queue — records that fail validation or are missing required fields are held here. Fix them (or follow up with the learner) and they move back into the reportable set.
Step 5 — Export the report
Once the repair queue is clear, export the PARS learner-credit file. It is produced in the format the AMA expects, with the activity ordered before its learners, ready to submit through your PARS account (file-flow). As the AMA API becomes available, the same data can be submitted directly.
Scope
Reporting is AMA-only at this time. If your event issues a credit type that does not report to an accreditor, you do not need this page — attendees still claim credit and receive certificates, and you can export the credit roster from Wrap Up → Credit Roster.
