Live-Session-Feedback

Teilnehmern ermöglichen, Sessions zu bewerten und Kommentare während der Veranstaltung zu hinterlassen. Ergebnisse werden in Echtzeit aktualisiert.

What Is Live Session Feedback?

Live session feedback lets attendees rate a session and leave a comment while the event is still running — not just after it ends. A Leave session feedback button appears on each session card at the halfway point of the session. Attendees tap it, submit a 1–5 star rating and an optional comment, and they're done in under 30 seconds.

This is different from the post-event survey. The post-event survey collects overall event feedback after everything wraps up. Live session feedback captures session-by-session impressions while the content is fresh — during a break, between rooms, or in the last few minutes of a talk.

Enabling Live Session Feedback

  1. Open your event in the dashboard and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to Attendee Feedback and check Enable live session feedback.
  3. Click Save changes.

The setting can be toggled at any time, including during the event.

When Does the Button Appear?

The feedback button appears on a session card once the session has passed its halfway point — calculated as the midpoint between the session's start and end time. For a 60-minute session starting at 10:00, the button appears at 10:30.

If a session has no end time set, CompleteEvent uses a 30-minute default to calculate the midpoint. Set session end times for accurate timing.

Once an attendee submits feedback for a session, the button is replaced with a ✓ Feedback submitted confirmation. They can't submit twice from the same device.

Who Can Submit Feedback?

Any attendee on the public session schedule page can submit feedback — no account required. There are two identity paths:

  • Registered attendees with a confirmation code — if the attendee navigated to the schedule with their confirmation code in the URL (e.g. from their confirmation email link), their feedback is linked to their registration.
  • Walk-in / anonymous attendees — a unique token is stored in their browser so the same device can't submit twice for the same session, but no account is required.

How It Interacts With the Post-Event Survey

If a registered attendee submits live feedback for a session, that session is automatically removed from the post-event survey's session ratings section. They won't be asked to rate a session they've already rated. Sessions they skipped during the event still appear in the post-event survey as usual.

Viewing Results

Live feedback results appear in the Live Session Feedback section of your event analytics (available on Starter and Pro plans). The dashboard shows:

  • A table of every session with its average rating, response count, and comment count.
  • A Recent Comments panel showing the latest comments across all sessions.

Results update in real time as attendees submit — you can watch ratings come in from the analytics tab on your phone while the event is running.

Tips

  • Mention it in your opening remarks. Tell attendees there's a feedback button on the session schedule and ask them to use it. A quick prompt at the start of the day drives significantly more responses.
  • Share the schedule link with confirmation codes. If attendees access the schedule via the link in their confirmation email, their feedback is tied to their registration and shows up in your registration-level analytics.
  • Set session end times. The halfway-point calculation depends on accurate start and end times. Sessions without end times fall back to a 30-minute default, which may not match your actual session length.
  • Use it alongside the post-event survey. Live feedback captures per-session impressions; the post-event survey captures the overall event experience. They complement each other — enabling live session feedback doesn't disable the post-event survey.
