Event Type Question and Go-Live Checklist

At signup, CompleteEvent asks what kind of event you're running and pre-fills the Create Event form. On a draft event, the Overview page shows a go-live checklist with a Publish button.

Overview

When you sign up and create your organization, CompleteEvent asks one question first: What kind of event are you running? After you name your organization, you go straight to the Create Event form. Your answer pre-fills the event description prompt on that form.

The Four Event Types

  • Simple RSVP — Free events, meetups, and community gatherings.
  • Paid / Ticketed — Classes, workshops, and any event where you charge admission.
  • Conference / Summit — Multi-track agenda with speakers and sessions.
  • Fundraiser / Gala — Nonprofit events with donations, an auction, or a raffle.

The choice does not lock any features. Every feature on your plan stays available in the event navigation whichever type you pick.

Default Ticket Type

Every event created with the standard form gets a free “General Admission” ticket type, so registration is ready to open. Edit or replace it under Launch → Ticket Types.

Go-Live Checklist

While an event is a draft, its Overview page shows a Your event page is ready to publish card with a Publish button. It tracks:

  • Title and date
  • Ticket type
  • Description
  • Cover image
  • Stripe payouts (only when the event has a paid ticket type)

Each item links to the page where you set it. The card disappears once the event is published.
