Analytics and Reporting
Understand your event analytics dashboard: registration trends, UTM tracking, session ratings, and how to export your data.
The Analytics Dashboard
Each event has a dedicated analytics dashboard that gives you a real-time view of registration activity, attendee behaviour, and marketing performance. Access it by opening your event and clicking Wrap-up → Analytics.
The Free plan shows the summary cards, registration chart, and check-in timeline. Paid plans add the conversion funnel, attendee feedback, per-session attendance, cross-event comparison, and the downloadable report.
Key Metrics Overview
The top of the analytics page shows these summary cards:
- Confirmed — confirmed registrations, shown against your event capacity.
- Waitlisted — registrants currently on the waitlist.
- Checked In — number of registrants who have been checked in.
- Check-in Rate — checked-in registrants as a percentage of confirmed.
- Gross revenue — total ticket revenue (shown once the event has revenue).
Registration Trend Chart
The Registrations Over Time chart shows daily registration counts for the last 7, 30, or 90 days, or all time (30 days by default). Use this chart to understand your registration velocity and identify the impact of specific promotions:
- A spike after an email send indicates your list is engaged.
- A consistent slow trickle followed by a spike near the deadline is normal behaviour — many people register at the last minute.
- A plateau in registrations mid-campaign may indicate you have exhausted your immediate audience and need new channels.
UTM Tracking
CompleteEvent automatically captures UTM parameters from registration URLs. When someone clicks a link to your registration page with UTM parameters (e.g., ?utm_source=newsletter&utm_campaign=spring2026), the source is recorded with their registration.
The Conversion funnel in the analytics tab groups page views and registrations by utm_source — where the traffic came from (newsletter, social, partner) — and shows the conversion rate for each source.
Visits and registrations without a UTM source are grouped as “Direct / no source”. To maximize UTM coverage, add UTM parameters to every link you share — in email campaigns, social posts, and partner placements.
Tip: Use consistent naming conventions for UTM parameters across your campaigns. For example, always use lowercase (
utm_source=newsletternotutm_source=Newsletter) — UTM values are case-sensitive and inconsistencies create separate entries in your report.
Session Ratings
The Attendee Feedback section of your analytics shows session ratings from the post-event survey — 1–5 stars and optional comments collected after the event ends. It displays:
- Average rating per session, sorted from highest to lowest.
- Number of ratings each session received.
- Written comments, displayed below each session's rating card.
Live Session Feedback
If you have enabled Live Session Feedback in event settings, a separate Live Session Feedback section appears in analytics. It shows feedback collected during the event — while sessions are still running. Refresh the page to see new responses. The section displays:
- Average rating, response count, and comment count per session.
- A Recent Comments panel showing the latest written comments across all sessions.
Live feedback and post-event survey ratings are tracked separately so you can see which responses came in during the event versus after.
See Live Session Feedback for setup instructions.
Org-Level Analytics
Your organization dashboard shows aggregate statistics across all events:
- Total events (all time)
- Total registrations (all time)
- Upcoming events and their current registration counts
These figures help you track the growth of your organization's event programme over time. The org dashboard does not currently aggregate revenue across events — check each paid event's analytics individually for revenue figures.
Exporting Data
You can export the full attendee list (including all registration fields and check-in status) from Register → List as a CSV. On paid plans, the analytics page also has a Download report button and a CSV export for per-session attendance.
For GDPR data export requests from specific attendees, see the Security and Compliance article.
Updates During the Event
The analytics page shows current figures each time it loads. Refresh the page during your event to see the latest check-in and registration counts.
Continuing-Education Reporting
If your event awards continuing-education credit, the Credit roster shows who has claimed which credit, and (for events issuing physician credit) the Accreditor Reporting page produces the AMA PARS file. Session evaluations — collected through surveys and live feedback — are the participation gate attendees must clear before they can claim credit. See CE/CME Credits and Certificates and Accreditor Reporting (PARS).
